In the splendid venue  of Piazza del Popolo in Ascoli,  last August 20th Antonello Venditti has performed with his Tortuga Tour, a show full of emotions that tell the story of the great career of   the Roman author’s through his most famous songs which have contributed to the  history of Italian music.

An innovative show, rich in effects with a well-set playlist and full of energy moments that only an artist like Venditti’s caliber is able to deal with making magical evening. It has been a pleasure to see a careful, participatory audience, enthusiastic and visibly touched to see and listen the successes of the famous artist.

 

Despite of a reduced setup due to logistical requirements and many changes regarding video and lighting, the LD Massimo Tomasino was able to express all the emotions contained in the songs accompanying it with lighting and visual choices to Venditti’ style. The lighting rig consisted of ProLights projectors, with 12pcs LUMA1500SH, 12pcs DIAMOND37, 14pcs JADE, 6pcs LUXOR, 08pcs CROMOWASH600 and 10 LUMIPIX12Q.

 

The various fixtures were distributed between roof and floor with 12pcs DIAMOND37 on the central truss and backlight used both to give the basic color to the scene, and  to deliver special pixel effects given by the single pixels control and from the wide zoom range 6 ° -66 ° that allow it to function as a wash or beam according to the requirements.

The 12 Spot Profile LUMA1500SH backlit and the central truss were often protagonist of the scene thanks to the powerfulLED source of 440W, to the precise  frame system, the CMY mixing and to the 5°-50° Zoom that have enabled the realization of extraordinary effects as well as an extreme precision during the show when all the projectors where lighting specific area of the stage set.

Also in the field of conventional sources, JADE with his 280W Osram Sirius HRI from 7800K and the double beam/spot mode, has allowed original effects mounted from both the floor and hanged on the truss rig with projections that crossed the entire square emphasizing the rock rhythmic that have largely characterized the live.

 

The use of LED bars LUMIPIX was conceived to emulate classic blinders, pointing towards the audience to highlight the presence and coloring the venue  during soft moments or involving it during the refrains in which the choruses become one added tool to create the right atmosphere.

 

Despite of the slight breeze that has invaded the square for the concert’s duration , the beams of the various fixtures were always very present, with a well balanced hazer effect. Massimo Tomasino has treasuring on its experience using 4pcs Antari F1 Fazer  combined with FLG water based  liquid (green) that does not spread oil residue, odorless, non-irritating and non-toxic and with the fundamental characteristic of producing a long lasting effect whitout quickly fading in the air.
