Cluj-Napoca hosted the eleventh edition of UNTOLD, staged as UNTOLD ONE over four days and nine stages. More than 500,000 people passed through the site, and the Main Stage carried a line-up that moved from Sting and Lewis Capaldi to Martin Garrix, Marshmello, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Zara Larsson and Flo Rida. The festival was voted third in DJ Mag's Top 100 Festivals for the third consecutive year.

The lighting concept for the Main Stage came from Andrei Predut of Apart Productions, who developed it and chose the fixture that would carry it. He specified 170 PROLIGHTS HaluPix Duo and placed them along the upper edge of the structure in two continuous lines, framing the stage across its full width. For Andrei, a festival main stage has to meet two apparently opposing goals at once: an installation that is instantly recognisable and carries a strong identity, while leaving enough room for every guest LD to build their own show. 

HaluPix Duo combines an RGB + Warm White pixel matrix with powerful long-throw 2,700 K Warm White beams in a dual-source architecture, offering full pixel-level control alongside integrated video and strobe functions. On the Main Stage both sources worked together: the pixel matrix generated high-impact visual effects across the full frame, while the Warm White beams added depth and a third dimension to a stage of this size.

"The HaluPix Duo fixtures crowning the stage were the signature elements of the composition," said Andrei Predut. "An array of panels naturally embedded into the scenery which, once activated, generated patterns of narrow warm-white beams guaranteed to provoke an involuntary 'WOW!' from the audience." 

"The HaluPix Duo proved to be a very effective choice for the Main Stage, particularly because of the visual impact we could achieve with a large number of fixtures working together as part of the stage architecture," said Marius Balan, Main Stage Technical Director at UNTOLD. "The combination of the fixture's output, pixel effects and flexibility gave Andrei the creative tools to build a strong visual layer around the LED and the rest of the lighting system."

Technical production and coordination of the Main Stage were overseen by Marius Balan, with his company Media Management Systems (MMS) acting as technical provider for the lighting and LED systems. Radu Rus, Head of Production at UNTOLD Festival, led the production team behind the Main Stage concept and its technical execution. The fixtures were supplied by Italian dry hire specialist Lucidiscena.

With an impressive 170 units outlining the upper edge of the structure from end to end, the HaluPix Duo became a true architectural element of the stage design, building on the leading role PROLIGHTS solutions hold in major international festivals.
