Prolights at the 65th Sanremo Festival

13 February 2015
A huge flower, in homage to the city of Sanremo ... this hi-tech flower wraps orchestra, artists and guests. The architect Riccardo Bocchini created this stage design for the 65th festival of Italian song.

The structure of the plant for video contributions, set up by the company Show Live in Rome, consists of LedCompass8 and Halupix. The first is a 8mm pitch LED-display module, the second a 7x7 matrix LED module (warm white - 2800K), that can project, with 8 ° beams, graphics, and written in depth, simulating a 3D effect.

The scene consists of a large stage and on the sides the two orchestral sections. At the center of the stage there is a large (LedCompass8) Ledwall that thanks to his installation curvilinear, was mounted on 10 concave circle arches (8m high each) forming a motorized stage curtain that moves on the horizontal axis. The installation continues also on the side of the stage, in the areas above the two orchestral sections.

Behind the LedCompass8 there is another technological backdrop, made with Halupix panels, that allows to make video images rarefied, to valorise the image on the LED wall depending by the intensity, the image on Halupix or mixture of the two; since the special transparency feature of LedCompass8 allows light to filter through its structure. The Halupix (over 400 units) extend their scenic development even under the floor of the stage, entirely covered with decking glass.
