Archwork lights up the Tree of Life

07 May 2015

An Italian marvel designed by the Architect Marco Balich. The big foliage inspired by the "Michelangelo" design of the paving of Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome stands out against the sky for a 37-meter high. It is supported by a complex and elegant structure of wood and steel. The Tree stands in the middle of Lake Arena and it is the symbol of the Italian Pavilion, representing a powerful and evocative reminder for hundreds of visitors coming from around the world visiting EXPO2015.

A symbol for the future- The Tree of Life is not only a symbol of tradition and religion, but it is also a jump towards the future, the innovation, and technology. Since the beginning, the structure was created as an interactive icon bounded to capture the imagination of visitors and to create a network of connections among the various pavilions of Expo 2015. To enliven it contributes a series of special effects made with the most advanced show technologies. The Tree of Life will lead off all the scheduled activities of the Italian Pavilion.

Main character of the lighting staging, developed by the company Agorà from L'Aquila, the ARCDOT Led System from Archwork goes through the entire structure converting it into 1240 points of light, powered by 20 drivers connected to more than 150 boosters.
